Illari works mainly with LLAMA FIBER and Merino SHEEP WOOL both of which are raised by artisan families.
The llama is a type of camel that lives in the Andean Region. In essence they are domesticated sustainable animals. The creole sheep is part of the family herds.They are migratory: they are moved following good pastures.
Yarn is handmade and our fabrics are elaborated in creole looms. The diverse tones in llama fabrics come from the different animal colors. In the case of sheep wool it is dyed with natural dyes from plants belonging to each region.
